Start candidates: stronger outlook this week

These players rank inside QB12, RB24, WR24 or TE12 this week, with a weekly positional rank at least two spots better than ROS for QB/TE, or four for RB/WR. We leave out the highest-ranked ROS starters to focus on less obvious lineup decisions. Questionable players still require a kickoff check.

Sit candidates: consider a stronger alternative

These players are inside the ROS starter band but outside it this week, with at least the same rank gap used above. That makes them candidates to bench if you have a better eligible replacement—not automatic drops. Flex, three-WR and superflex leagues can change the answer.

Availability concerns among rosterable players

Players with out, doubtful, injured-reserve, PUP or suspension designations are separated from performance-based picks. Doubtful is not the same as ruled out. This table only covers players present in both ranking sets; always check the full injury report.

Why these recommendations can differ from season rankings

Weekly ranks and rest-of-season ranks answer different questions. Comparing them surfaces players whose immediate outlook differs from their longer-term standing; it does not measure a change since last week or prove that a matchup caused the difference. Projections provide an additional point estimate but do not decide selection. Rank numbers from different positions are never compared with each other.

A listed candidate is useful only relative to your alternatives. Compare players on a shared positional or flex board, check current availability and preserve eligible late-game replacements. These static pages rebuild periodically, so a late injury announcement can arrive after the displayed source update.
