What is FAAB in fantasy football?

FAAB (Free Agent Acquisition Budget) is a season-long, blind-bid budget — usually $100 — that managers spend to win waiver-wire claims.

FAAB replaces waiver priority with money: everyone gets a budget (commonly $100) for the whole season and the highest sealed bid wins each player.

If a league-winning waiver back appears, one manager might bid $42 of their $100 while another bids $30 — the $42 bid wins and that manager has $58 left for the rest of the year. Bids are blind, so you never see others' offers, making FAAB a game of valuation and nerve.

FAAB is widely considered fairer than waiver priority because it gives every team an equal shot at any player — you just have to be willing to pay. Spend too aggressively early and you'll have nothing left for the playoff push.
