What is a bye week in fantasy football?

A bye week is the one week each season an NFL team has off, during which all of its players are unavailable and score zero fantasy points.

During a team's bye week, none of its players take the field, so you must start someone else in their place.

If three of your starters are on a bye in the same week, you could be forced to start bench players or stream replacements off the waiver wire. Smart drafters avoid stacking too many key players on the same bye week so they're not caught short on a single Sunday.

NFL bye weeks typically run from around Week 5 through Week 14. Checking your roster's bye weeks before the season helps you plan trades, waiver moves, and which weeks you'll need extra depth.
