ADP (Average Draft Position) is the average pick number at which a player is selected across many fantasy drafts, used as a market benchmark for where to draft him.

ADP is the average draft slot a player is selected at across thousands of mock and real drafts, used as a consensus market price.

If a wide receiver has an ADP of 18.4, he's typically gone by the late second round in a 12-team league. Drafting him at pick 30 is a value; reaching for him at pick 8 is paying above market. ADP shifts all summer as news breaks, so you check it close to your draft date.

ADP is the single most useful number on draft day. It won't tell you who will score the most points, but it tells you the price the field has set, so you can spot bargains, avoid reaches, and plan which round to target a position.
